This came to us recently, and her comments really touched our hearts...

"Tapestry Residential Eating Disorder Program is a spacious and beautiful facility. The program works as a safe, structured approach to eating disorders. Staff members offer wider ranging areas of expertise: these range from day to day elements, such as meals plans and individual therapy sessions, to philosophical and spiritual aspects such as yoga and nature walk. The weekly schedule alternates between structured events such as group therapy and with reflection about what self care skills you are practicing, and groups about new skills to learn; balanced with weekly outings to use these skills in 'the outside world'. Speaking for myself, Tapestry not only helped me manage my eating disorder, it helped me grow as a person and begin to manage my life.

Tapestry's hands-on approach to Eating Disorders stresses coping techniques. Classes teach about the themes and stereotypes around eeating Disorder; stress reduction; and specific behavioral skills designed get you 'inthe moment' to help make effective choices that ultimately build up resistance to the disorder. Probably my favorite hands-on approach was equine therapy which helps clients de-stress but also teaches how to intuitively sense the horses. This becomes a step towards sensing oneself and others.

At Tapestry, I benefited enormously from interaction with other clients. Learning that others shared similar feelings and discussing the different paths of eating disorders to became essential to my recovery. There are many opportunities for clients to to describe their experiences, whether in therapy sessions, groups and post meal discussions. Clients also learn to watch out for one another so that the program both builds a sense of self and restores a sense of how to relate to others. Tapestry combines broad staff expertise with an intimate atmosphere for clients, making it for me, an outstanding eating disorder treatment program."

Welcome to our new blog

We're ironing out the kinks, so please stand by!
